Yes we allow children from 3 years of age to 12 years of age. Younger children are able to sit in front of an adult with a child’s cushion along with life jacket that we will provide.

We do not tour in areas where there are alligators and we are in very shallow salt water usually 3ft to 4ft so we do not venture into areas where there are sharks.

We do not recommend bringing food as we will stop at certain locations to take pictures and talk about the area but it won’t be enough time to eat anything. We do not allow alcohol beverages on the tour but you may bring a beverage.

Our tours are in canals that are protected from rough water and waves so the water is very calm.

No we do not go out into the ocean or deep waters. It’s important to stay in shallow waters so our underwater lights can illuminate the seafloor so we can look for sea-life.

Some of our locations have restroom facilities but we recommend using the restroom before arriving to the tour site as we can’t guarantee the location you’re going to have a restroom or is operational at the time of your kayak tour.

No, as we’ve had thousands of first time kayakers go on our kayak tours. What’s important though is to please watch the paddle tutorial on YouTube on how to kayak and the most efficient way to paddle.

We only offer double seated glass bottom kayaks only with a maximum weight limit of 385lbs with both people riding together. If you are an odd number party such as 3 people then one person will ride in their own double seated kayak which we would recommend as the heaviest or tallest individual and the other 2 people would ride together.

Yes we do offer gift cards. Simply click on the Book Tab on our website and you’ll see the section where you can purchase a gift card. Make sure to put your guests name and phone number so we can text them parking instructions and other information needed for the tour.

Of course, we love to have small and large groups join us. Group discounts are only for 6 or more people. You can text 813-527-5822 for information about discounts.

Yes we provide life jackets for all individuals on the tour. Our children’s life jackets are 30lb to 90lbs, so if you have a child under 30lbs then you may want to bring your own child’s lifejacket to fit to size.

No we provide life jackets for you but our kayaks are extremely stable and do not tip over or sink.

Some people have gone on our tour with knee or back problems as our staff will help you in get in and out of the kayak but understand that is upon your own risk and ultimately your decision which based on knowing your own limitations.

On average it usually takes 5 to 7 business days for the funds to go back into your account.

Yes all of our locations have onsite parking although some sites have parking meters so be prepared to pay $2-$6 for parking at some of our locations.

Weather conditions change constantly in Florida so if weather cancels the kayak tour then we will text you 2 hours before the tour to let you know it’s been canceled. If we cancel then you will have the choice to reschedule to another available day or receive a refund.

Our kayak tours fully book up on a regular basis so with respect to everyone going on the tour it’s important that you arrive absolutely no later than the actual scheduled tour time. If you miss the tour from arriving late then unfortunately there is no option to receive a refund.

Because of balance issues an individual maximum weight riding in their own kayak cannot exceed 300lbs.

The maximum weight limit for 2 people riding together is 385lbs. If you’re combined weight is over the limit then please text us at 813-527-5822 that you would need individual kayaks. We ask that the lighter person sit in the back of the kayak and the heavier person ride in the front seat for proper balancing of the kayak.

Do not wear a bathing suit. We recommend casual clothes with shoes as you’re able to step into the kayak without getting your feet wet. In the winter we recommend wearing pants and long sleeves plus jacket to stay warm.

We can accommodate groups up to 20 people.

We ask that you arrive no later than 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time.

Our kayaks are similar to canoes and there are no vent holes in them where water gets in so in most cases you’ll stay dry although some people do get wet from the drip of their paddle on their knees so we recommend bringing a towel to lay in your lap if you wish to stay completely dry.

Tips are entirely up to you. The team certainly appreciates clients who provide some remuneration for a job well done.

Kayaking is an aerobic sport but you do not have to be an olympic athlete to participate. We do strongly suggest discussing your activity plans (kayaking, biking, or paddle boarding) with your physician if you are in poor health or are not in good physical shape before booking with Sharkeys Glass Bottom Tours.
